Recording Sheets

There are two online recording sheets that volunteers must fill out. The first is the My Field Journal sheet, which must be filled out when signing up for Firefly Watch. This form describes the habitat where the volunteer will be counting fireflies, and the location is placed on a google map. The second is the Observations sheet for reporting their weekly firefly survey data.

Click on the links below to download a page view of these two documents.

My Field Journal page view - volunteers fill this out once, before their first observation.

Observations page view - Volunteers use this sheet to report their weekly firefly survey data.

You might see more than one type of firefly in your yard. New England fireflies fall into three main groups, and they can be identified by flash color, pattern, and location. Check out the Virtual Habitat to see what fireflies might look like in action.
