Did you know?
In ancient Egypt, priests often bred cats solely for mummification. They then sold the cat mummies to pilgrims who, in turn, gave them to the temple as offerings to the gods. Thousands of cat mummies and bronze cat coffins have been excavated from Egyptian burial sites.
