Museum & Online Programs
Educator Resource Center
Facilitating the Museum's goal to improve science, technology, engineering, and mathematics literacy in grades K – 12, the Educator Resource Center (ERC) in the Lyman Library is a comprehensive resource that includes both a physical collection of materials housed in the Museum's Lyman Library and online resources
Appointments and Drop-In Hours
Teachers are welcome to the Educator Resource Center (ERC) for individual or small-group professional development work. We encourage educators to schedule time in the Lyman Library, a bright, open space overlooking the Charles River.

Curriculum and Research Materials
Our 18,000-volume collection covers a broad range of science, engineering, technology, and mathematics topics. Here you'll find science fair project ideas, inquiry-based approaches to teaching, hands-on classroom activities, and a variety of performance assessments. The collection is updated regularly, so come back often to see what's new! Members of our Teacher Partner Program may borrow materials.
Technology and Engineering for K – 12
Visit the Technology and Engineering Curriculum (TEC) Review either within the ERC or online to access New England's largest collection of high quality technology and engineering curriculum materials that have been reviewed for connections to national and state standards (over 3,400 science, technology, math, and engineering curriculum resources).
Available Media
The ERC features wireless access, LCD projection, and photocopying facilities—an ideal setting for doing professional work. Our videos and DVDs of popular science series include selections from the Discovery Channel, PBS, National Geographic, and more.
More than Science and Engineering
Our extensive collection of children's trade books has inspired museum educators to explore ways to integrate elementary English language-arts with science and technology learning. In addition, our Math in the Museum project is developing supports for mathematically-focused field trips. We welcome teachers of all subjects and school librarians to these discussions.
