Bipartisanship Leads to House Approval of STEM Education Act

With broad bipartisan (and NCTL) support, the U.S. House of Representatives approved H.R. 5031, the STEM Education Act of 2014, to strengthen STEM programs at federal agencies and include computer science in the definition of STEM education.

The American Society for Engineering Education recently honored staff and collaborators of Engineering is Elementary® (EiE®), a curriculum project developed by the Museum of Science through the NCTL, while EiE's afterschool curriculum was recognized by Change the Equation and the Telly Awards.

Meeting the needs of teachers nationwide to implement Engineering is Elementary, the Museum's Extended Network of EiE Professional Development Providers has grown significantly with California-based agency WestEd, Florida's Orlando Science Center, and the Science Museum of Minnesota (SMM).
